KUALA LUMPUR, April 21, 2026– MTC Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (MTCE) has formalized a strategic Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MoU) with Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) during the DefenceServices Asia (DSA) and National Security (NATSEC) Asia 2026 exhibition,marking a significant milestone in expanding MTCE’s engineering footprintwithin Malaysia’s maritime and defense sectors.
The MoU was signed by MTCE Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Baqthiar Bin Mat Saad, alongside LUNAS leadership, Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Azhar at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.
This collaboration reflects MTCE’s commitment to broadening its engineering capabilities beyond its established oil and gas expertise into advanced maritime, defense, and industrial engineering sectors.
Through this partnership, MTCE will work closely with LUNAS to enhance engineering capabilities across multiple sectors, including maritime infrastructure, defense support systems, and industrial modernization.
The collaboration is expected to create synergies by combining MTCE’s engineering expertise with LUNAS’ established position in shipbuilding, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services.
The agreement underscores MTCE’s continued commitment to innovation, industrial diversification, and supporting Malaysia’s ambitions to strengthen its maritime and defense industries through strategic partnerships.
